Prince Mathew Kolawole has been re-elected as the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly.
Kolawole’s re-election as the 13th Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly came through affirmation by 25 lawmakers of the House.
The Speakership tussles had been a fierce contest between Kolawole and Idris Ndako from Yagba East state constituency; but it was surprising that no other nomination was made for the Speakership position.
The member representing Ajaokuta I, Bello Abdullahi Balogun nominated Prince Mathew Kolawole which was later seconded by Alfa Mohomoh Rabiu, member representing Ankpa II.
MEENATNIGERIA BLOG reports that all the members of the seventh Assembly are members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In other positions, Ahmed Mohammed ( Ankpa I) was elected as the Deputy Speaker, while Bello Abdullahi Balogun ( Ajaokuta) retains his position as the Majority Leader.
Hon. Prince Ndako Idris of (Lokoja II) was elected Deputy Majority Leader, Mukta Bajeh (Okehi) Chief Whip and Ododo Moses of Dekina Biraidu was elected as Deputy Chief Whip.
